TOBY FOYEH & ORCHESTRA AFRICA
A founding member of Hugh Masekela’s legendary orchestra, Toby “Leke Leke” Foyeh — with Orchestra Africa — has played the role of Yoruba cultural ambassadors to the U.S. for some years. His Afrijam is a well-muscled Afro-beat and sensual Juju, with female chorus and costumed dancers and, of course, Mr. Foyeh himself on guitar, flute and Nigerian percussion. The results are as super-smooth, super-colorful and super-danceable all at once.
